6/20/2007

Got to see the latest Entourage tonight. Always a blast, especially when you luck into it unexpectedly on the road. This is building up very well, should be fun when Walsh eventually loses it, especially with all that is gonna be on the line. I can still see Drama trying to support the whole group with his TV show. Speaking of Drama, just saw a preview for Rush Hour 3, and I think I will be heading in to see it just to see if he is actually in there as a bus driver in Paris. If so, its gonna be an immediate addition to the DVD collection, as that would simply make every time I see that movie priceless. No kidding, it could be awful along the lines of Battlestar Gallactica (sorry Conboy, all that came to mind), and I would still proudly add it to my collection for that fact alone. Good episode though, that show just keeps rolling, love it.

After that, there was another day of driving today for Matt and I. Got to drive through Prairie City today on our way to the new campsite in Unity Pond State Park. Upon arriving to set up camp, we encountered a group of Oregon’s finest convicts, out to clean up for the visitors. No better way to choose a campsite than to gravitate towards the ones filled with convicts, let me tell you. No, seriously, I kid you not. The other four we checked out before that were overgrown, filled with insects, or made up of four total campsites. The campsite with the convicts was literally the cream of the crop. The convicted felons aside, it was right on a nice looking lake, had some nice showers, and a nice level place to lay out the camp site. That and we could set up shop for two consecutive nights, always nice with the lazy people like me who look to take the work out of every possible situation.

In other news, we drove back to John Day after Dad’s ride today to catch the Sox game on ESPN. Who knows how many times we will be able to see the Sox on this trip? We even got to see Slammin’ Sammy Sosa hit his 600, and while not in person, still a neat sight to see, because performance enhancing aids or not, Sammy was always a class act. That said, every possible time we can, I think we will be using the power of this van to take us wherever we may be able to catch the games. In the process, we got to watch the Sox crush the Braves, a great way to makeup for sitting through the loss on Monday. Got to see five homeruns from our boys, with another from Papi in the process (on a side note, just made a fantasy trade today, if you don’t want to hear about it, skip to the next paragraph. Me and Danny Mac were able to work out another fantasy blockbuster, with Papi and Roy Halladay heading my way in exchange for Kenji Jojima, Derek Lee, and Jeremy Bonderman. While it appears that I may have given up a bit much, the slot I freed up in this trade allows me to take Joe Mauer off the DL. Pretty good trade for me, and Danny, as it greatly improves his catcher and first baseman, while providing a typically healthier, although not as potentially dominant pitcher for his squad. Hopefully this works out as well as fantasy football, where that blockbuster brought us up to one and two in the league, greatly improving both of our squads in the process, despite what any others in the league who finished behind us might try to argue. Results are all that matter in one year fantasy sports leagues.)

On a final note, we did actually get tickets for the Mariners/Red Sox games on both Tues. the 26th and Wed. the 27th in Seattle last night while still able to access the internet. This is very exciting and unexpected, as starting this trip, I thought we would be checking off Coors field instead, without seeing the Sox. I am very pumped for this. Also, this means that we will actually be getting out of Oregon soon, as Dad plans to be around Boise around Monday, which is a good goal, as we would be a healthy way into Idaho on the way to Montana. Can’t wait to really be done with Montana already, as that is sure to be the toughest state on our trip, or longest at the very least. Anyways, I’m just beginning to see the trip really take off, which is pretty exciting considering the slow start in Oregon. Anyways, until next time hope life is treating you well in your neck of the woods.
