Love the fact that when getting sides with your eggs and bacon, you have the option of selecting pancakes. Or sausage. Or Ham. Now that is a great breakfast, 2 eggs, bacon, and 3 pancakes, they aren’t fucking around out here in Oregon. Know I’m attempting to get healthy this summer, but I figure I’ll need the energy when on the bike.
All that much more respect for dad and what he is doing after putting in 18 miles myself today, especially when dealing with the bike seat, which we will just leave at ouch, nobody wants to hear more than that. Part of this is because the right rhythm in biking is a hard thing to find, while just any rhythm is not. Today was a case in point of the tortoise beating the hare, as the hare had to drop out of the race after only 18 miles, while the tortoise went all the way to Eugene.
A side note from the biking, there is a lot of trash on the sides of the roads here in Oregon. And a lot of this trash is in fact empty alcohol containers. I know empties aren’t something you want to keep in your car, but come on people, how big into drinking and driving are the people of Oregon? How do the police let this type of shit slide, at least give the drunk a fine for littering if you are going to let the DUI slide, the deforestation is hurting this beautiful environment bad enough, as matt posted in his blog (http://www.matthewroche.blogspot.com/). Other than that, The green is pretty ridiculously green, must be due to that pacific northwest stereotypical weather creating a rainforest effect in a much cooler climate, beautiful when its not actually raining.
Looking forward, wind blowing through a field of long grass/vegetation is one of the things that I consistently have to can expect from this trip. Hooray, can you feel my excitement? That being said, seeing fields flecked with white, purple, and red are kind of beautiful in an undisturbed natural type of way. I’m not sure how many days and like fields this will last, and I’m not all that hopeful that it makes it past the first month.
And finally, I actually used gras today to thank my brother. Know I miss 800/798 and the roommates, but I don't know if I can forgive you for adding that my vocabulary Ali
