Just a quick update this time around, seeing as it is getting time to be social once more, and after so much time away, I must ready myself mentally for it. The final tally for me was around 550 miles driven yesterday. By the end I just could focus anymore and had to turn the wheel over, but it was good to know that when it comes to it, I can put those miles behind me, as I had never really done more than 200 at one time at any other point. It’s rather nice to just get into the rhythm of the road, pump some tunes and drive. This is a good thing, as I get the impression I will have the pleasure of driving the bulk of the miles to pick up where we left off in Wyoming.
Ragbrai is finally starting tomorrow, which is very exciting for the three of us. It’s about time we got a little time away from each other. Not that we are getting sick of each other, but we are starting to snap at each other a little quicker and with less reason, so its time to integrate other people into our social circle. So luckily, the festivities start tonight, with the ride beginning tonight. Apparently there is a big beer garden at each stop along the way to provide a good outlet for our need to socialize. And on that note, its time to go get my drinking shoes on, for Ragbrai has truly arrived.
